Q3CTF MATCH UPDATE: looks like somehow we WERE chosen to play in the final rounds or playoffs in the Q3 CTF showdown at Teamplay.net so we need to get some practice going NOW!  Especially for all those who just got quake3 and want to play.  I'm not sure when the round will be playing but they are starting to schedule matches today!  So HOPw's ... let me know if you want to play and when you are available for this last match.

Well for the fifth week in a row we fielded a full team for the Q3CTF Tourney put on by teamplay.net. Here's the recap of tonight's games – the first game was our chosen map q3wctf2 and we really never got going in this game  and the pings tell most of the story here's the scores – Gothic Terror/ 1.The_wolfe = ping 38 score 95 2.Trinidad = ping 80 score 92 3.Slak = ping 101 score 68 4.Rickm =ping 140 score 52 HOPw  = Hatriq = ping 60 score 35 2.Badjim =ping 188 score 32   3.Dforce =ping 101 score 18 4. AK47 = ping 263 score 5.

Second game we had to restart like 4 times because the other team wouldn’t wait till all Our guys to connect  but no matter the story was pretty much the same. It was there chosen map of Q3CTF1 which we play actually very well on that map and guess would be considered our best map, here's the scores HOPw = Hatriq = 55  2. DForce = 55  3.Badjim = 35 4.AK47=14 Gothic Terror=Trinidad=126 2.glock=104 3.Russel=95 Slak=12  

Our pings were jumping around somewhat and there was also packet loss that DForce was having at times  ,But over all I think we did well for our first experience in CTF and in a tourney with some pretty good talent  ….. I would really like to see what those scores would be though if we were evenly matched in pings because I feel we can play well together just need to practice as a team more  . Well that was the last night for us in the CTF tourney I’m afraid with a score for matches of 1-4 so I would say that the playoffs are pretty much out of the question …..LoL   …. 

For MVP for tonight I think would have to go to BadJim.HOPw as he played very well with his new cable modem and would like to give a special thanks to AK47.HOPw for hanging in there and getting some key frags and captures ….. We all know what its like to be the high pinger of the bunch AK   GOOD JOB HOPw's  Was A lot of fun and would like to see more of the q3 players getting involved if its at all possible ….

Ps. Yes I will try to control my competitive urges and not enter us in any other tourneys without getting a general consensus from you guys first  hehehh  

I'd like to welcome FatBastard.HOPw into the clan.  He lost to me 2 to 40 on Quake1 level e4m3.  He normally plays Quake 3 so isn't that familiar with that level or game.  He played a pretty good game, gaining a frag on me early on in the match and another in mid match.  Then continued to attack from the bottom with shotgun after respawning.  Safe not to use a quad RL and lose a frag :)  Good game.

Clan HOPw had a quake3 CTF fight tonight vs Clan SAQT.  It shouldn't have been played with the uneven pings so basically a give me fight.  But since the HOPw's accepted the conditions,  congrats go out to SAQT.  I understand it went very well for the HOPw's considering the ping difference and they had fun which is most important.  Thanks DForce an Hatriq for taking the time to schedule these matches.  I know how much effort it takes to coordinate with our people and another clan.  Good job.

Level one was Clan SAQT's choice and they won 26 to 2.  Wax66.SAQT (23 ping) 209 points, Rhi.SAQT (46 ping) 195 points, MiniMe.SAQT (41 ping) 170 points, Choinin.SAQT (40 ping) 153 points.  DForce.HOPw (144 ping) 24 points, Hatriq.HOPw (148 ping) 15 points, Clipper.HOPw (205 ping) 7 points, and Bad13Jim.HOPw (433 ping) 4 points.

Level 2 was our choice which we lost 9 to 3.  DForce.HOPw (132 ping) 148 points, Hatriq.HOPw (133 ping) 77 points, Bad13Jim.HOPw (406 ping) 45 points and Clipper.HOPw (175 ping) 1 point.  MiniMe.SAQT (22 ping) 123 points, Wax66.SAQT (24 ping) 120 points, Rhi.SAQT (43 ping) 109 points and Choinin.SAQT (37 ping) 79 points.

First game was theirs at Q3CTF4 Proteus tried real hard to join us but just couldn't quite make it happen. So it was Me, Hat, Clipper and Jim to save the day. almost didn't have enough to field this week's match. They dominated us most all of the match, they all were on a t1 and had pings of 30-40. We were all sitting around 150-200 except for Jim at almost 435 =( sorry Jim, but couldn't have don't it without ya. We got there flag many times in that map but couldn't seen to keep a hold of it long enough to get our flag back.  Final score  SAQT 26 to HOPw 2. But seeing as how this map was a bouncy map with plenty of places to fall off... we sure must have put up a good fight cuz NOBODY had any negative scores. DForce 24, Hatriq 15, Clipper 7, and Jim 4.

The second match Clipper got so bad he even disconnected in the middle of the match. =( but like a true HOPw he came right back in to finish up the match. This time we played a NON RAIL map hehe =) Q3CTF1 and Hat and I stayed on defense most of the match while Clipper and Jim went for their flag. We had EXCELLENT coverage of the flag and hardly let any get by. A couple of times hat and I had to follow the flag carrier all the way to their base before we could frag them, so we figured while we were there... GRAB THEIR FLAG! hehe managed to get a good streak going for awhile. Then they got organized and hit us in waves with Clipper not around for a few we were lost just couldn't hold it. Regained our hold on the fort by the time Clipper got back in, but couldn't seem to score any more captures though. Final score SAQT 9 vs. HOPw 3  Check out the frag counts! DForce 148, Hatriq 77, Jim 45, and Clipper (not sure how many you had before you dropped) sorry.

I could tell we were starting to play like a GROUP in this 2nd match. It felt real good. Just need to get some practice in so we can hone those skills. =)

Hatriq wants any HOPw's interested in playing in a Quake3 CTF match tonight against Clan SaQt to contact him.  If enough HOPw's let him know they can play then he will arrange a match with the other clan.  He is looking at having the match somewhere between 5pm and 8pm PST. 

He also would like to inform everyone we actually won a match :) Well it was by forfeit but it wasn't a loss.
