Congrats to Lt Dan.HOPw who is our newest member of HOPW with a 37 - 6 loss vs me :).  He played a pretty aggressive game, always coming after me.  I did the same but he earned every frag.  Good Job LT.

Hatriq decided to do a write up of his Q3 Bus experience.

"It was Saturday morning on the 25th of September and the streets of Sacramento had a certain hustle and bustle about them  , there was something in the air  electric almost. The people were driving like idiots as if they were late for something . I thought to my self  Wow  could they all be going to the same place I was?  Could they all be heading down to the local CompUSA the greet the arrival of the Quake3 tour bus?  As I got closer to the outlet of the once Computer City store  I started seeing a small gathering  of about maybe 50 people  and then realized  that all theses maniac drivers  weren’t really going to experience the New arrival of Quake 3 Arena as I was on this soon to be very hot Saturday afternoon  but instead  were probably going to the next Garage sale down the street  …..hehheh     good thing  would be less time for me to stand in line  to get a chance to enter the q3 tour buss which was like a LAN party on wheels  they took groups of  7 people inside this humungous beast of a bus which displayed the quake 3 arena logo on the sides and back of this black rolling thunder type vehicle  …. Well after about an hour of standing in the 90deg sun My group was led into the bus and into a virtual icebox  that felt so nice once you were in there  but soon became freezing  to your skin   hmmmm or maybe that was just nerves ….NAH!!!!!!   I had played Q3 before  and the graphics of this game are incredible  But WOW the experience of playing this game with 2 new maps while inclosed in darkness with 8 other people within a few feet of ya  and  the sound so crisp you thought you were really getting blown up as someone Gibbed ya with a RL upside your backside …..It was truly  incredible  we got to play on the new anthelon 500’s AMD’s  newest claim to fame in the world of CPU’s for personal Pc owners  and I do have to say that they played very well and was impressed with the speed and handling  of the system …very nice  ….we started in a warm up match while people  tried resetting there controls to there likes I went into the maps to see if I could find some artifacts  locations  to get a jump on things  …..was so amazed at the damn graphics  that basically I didn’t get much accomplished except a lot of ouuu  and ahhhh’s  as with the other contestants also  then it happened  WHAM…..  my quake model was blown to nits by some eager beaver with the new weapon the introduced into the arsenal the grenade launcher     hmmmmm….Pineapples anyone??   Hehehh   well from that point on it was kinda a blur  the buss was  blazing inside with rockets and jumps and explosions sounds that had to be heard outside for miles  , well seamed that way  you felt every hit almost with your entire body  and gib, frag, frag, gib,  it was over   went way to fast and at the end  I was sitting in a 2 frag shy of getting 3rd place   ACK!!!!!!  Out of 8 people  ??  oh well was in like last tell I started getting the feel of the Lan speed  and control  and was rising pretty fast but not fast enough  the 20th frag was hit and the experience was over   Reality check as ya left the ice box LAN party on wheels back into the heat  ..where you were led to a table with some cool free stuff like a q3 cup poster a mouse pad and assorted little trinkets  …..the winner of each group received a QUAKE3 T-shirt which was the envy of everyone and actually saw a couple people scurry to there cars to lock it away before the crowd built up courage to actually  mug them for it…heheheh  could a happened   was a cool shirt …..well met some great contacts  and some promoters in town and I were shooting the shit before I was getting ready to leave  and  by the end  there was a possibility of a date in the first week of January  for a Quale3 tourney to take place here in Sacramento  ….hmmmmmmm  never know  could happen  details  and emails will tell the story there  but  would be great to be a part of it as they had asked me about my ideas about it ………….boy do I have some ideas……..well later on that  ….

Overall Was a fantastic experience and My Hat goes off to Id software and the whole group for bringing the tour to my hometown  and will remember it for a long time to come  …..cant wait to see the full Version of Quake3 Arena when it hits the stores sometime in the next month or so   ……….Happy Gibbin All

Clan HOPw 177 to Clan CBI 146
Wednesday, September 8th
Woohoo Clan HOPw   now has a 500 record with 19 wins and 19 losses in Net Quake.  We played a great group of guys tonight.  Clan CBI was patient and very respectful.  We choose our level e4m3 and played it first.   AK47.HOPw and Sniper.HOPw played their first matches ever :)  Yes we were pretty unprepared.  AK47 said he knew the level but Sniper did not.  Heck if it mattered.  31.CBI was just causing havoc on the map he went out to a huge lead.   I hardly could regain control and when I did it was only for a small amount of time.  I would end up facing 2 or 3 Clan CBI members who would take me out :(.   Knowfear said he was locking pretty bad which also hurt us. Match 1 one E4M3 was won by Clan CBI 89 to 57. Pings were pretty even.  31.CBI 64 frags (209 ping), Korny69.CBI 12 frags (234 ping), Kamper.CBI 7 frags (265 ping), Jumpmaster.CBI 6 frags (253 ping).  Wormburner.HOPw 28 frags (253 ping), Knowfear.HOPw 15 frags (199 ping), AK-47.HOPw 13 frags (259 ping), Sniper.HOPw 1 frag (315 ping).  Congrats Clan CBI. Individual Scores.

Match 2 was their level e1m2 Clan HOPw won 120 to 57. We had the ping advantage. WannaB3.HOPw 70 frags (93 ping), Wormburner.HOPw 26 frags (259 ping), KnowFear.HOPw 15 frags (187 ping), RedWolf.HOPw 9 frags (212 ping).  31.CBI 35 frags (253 ping), QFuzzNuttQ.CBI 12 frags (253 ping), Korny69.CBI 8 frags (240 ping), and 2 frags (287 ping).  (The individual score picture was 32 seconds left in the match.  You see me taking on a Quadboy :) I killed him after the game was unpaused with one shotgun shot.  Making my total frags 26 instead of 25 and that was the only death tell the end.  So 31.CBI who isn't pictured had 35 total frags).

Good job guys.  Thanks. Overall Clan HOPw wins with a total 177 to 146 with the most frags combined.

Some sad news to start the month.  Packrat.HOPw passed away a few days ago.  :(  Our prayers go out to his family and friends.

I really enjoyed talking to Packrat.HOPw.  He was always willing to help.   He spent hours  helping me with computer problems, teaching me  many quake maps and had one of our famous sayings "Talk in Better Places" :) He was a great guy and just started playing quake  frequently this last month.  I'm very sorry to hear this news.  Here is a page by Blazed.net for Packrat.

Thorny has a Birthday today.  Happy Birthday.

Congratulations to Redwolf.HOPw for joining Clan HOPw. He got lucky with the score 25 to 0 with 1 minute to go I took him on below the elevator. Just as I was about to release a rocket on him after my elec and nails were tearing threw him, he got off that killer shot and went up 1 to 25. Of course being my over aggressive self and smellig blood I charged in there hoping for that pee shooter kill :), well it was not to be, he got me good with a RL blast. Again I charge in there hoping I can get him smelling that dripping blood, nope coming up the elevator is just too disadvantageous, as my pee shooter jammed he let me have it again. Well enough of this the poor guy must really be wounded so I charge is Quad boy butt, (O did I forget to mention he was glowing) :) how stupid of me :) O well to end the game as the ticker counted down with 2 seconds left I got my revenge I jammed that rl barrel and blew us both up. Welcome to Clan HOPw Redwolf with a 3 to 25 score on me.
