It seems the Free-PC concept might be working out so keep an eye on it if your interested.

On 2/25/99 Diamond released new drivers for the Monster 3d I card.

I guess I have my computer buying question answered.  I will wait to buy a computer towards the end of the year.   It seems new memory is coming out called RDRAM which will run up to 800mhz.   This is projected for this summer and it a 600mhz chip will take advantage of it.   Also 133mhz bus is soon to be out.  Here is an article from ZDnet which tells the tale.

First level played was our level E4M3.  Clan RW started off great!  I was running into 3 and 4 of em at a time finally had to go to other areas to get weapons.  I kept wondering what was up with Knowfear.   About 8 minutes into the game he only had a grand total of '0' frags! YUP a big ZERO.  After the game I found out he was locked up for about 6 minutes from 2 to 8 minutes of the game.  AK-47 was spiking to 7000 but could tell when it was about to happen so he stayed away from the lava and only took a dip once.  I was spiking to 3000 about every few minutes and it would last from 10 seconds to 50 seconds at a time.   The worst time I had full armor and quad and got stuck right in the path of incoming rockets at the end of the hallway intersection of the RL hump and elevator.   I figured for sure someone would shoot a rocket down the long hall and get me.   I could even see fighting waaaayyy down at the other end and rockets coming at me.   But they all came up short.  Then just as I was starting to get over the lag Halk came over the hump and took my lagged butt out of action.  Clan RW really had me worried we played terrible that first 10 minutes.  At the end of the game the score really surprised me but we made a nice run and won the game 92 to 45!  AK-47 did pretty good for just his second game! And so did Dforce since he is normally a quakeworld/Quake 2 HOPw.  The second level was DM3 their choice.  AK-47 made his first demo and here it is of DM3.  Killjoy came up with a battle plan to put me and Dforce over on the Red Armor side of map.  Well I saw us both there the first minute then never saw Dforce again.  Man was it boring over on that side of the map!  Once I took a few RW's out they stayed away the whole game.  I finally got bored and went to RL side for a bit of action.  I guess I probably only died approx 3 times the whole game which was a big plus but man I love to rack up frags, hehe.  First game I never got a quad or pentagram for a whole game! Ouch that really hurts.

DM3 Clan HOPw 57 to 34.   Killjoy.HOPw (204 ping) 22 frags, Wormburner.HOPw (267 ping) 13 frags, Dforce.HOPw (230 ping) 12 frags and Knowfear.HOPw (152 ping) 10 frags.  RW.ZeButcher (232 ping) 14 frags, RW.Halk (175 ping) 8 frags, RW.Zen (190 ping) 7 frags and RW.Wolverine (242 ping) and 5 frags.

Man I wanted to wait tell Fall of 1999 to get a new computer but hell next month Quake 3 might be out!  Knowing me I probably won't like it.  Graphics look great but play and weapons probably will suck like Quake 2! But if it doesn't guess I'll have to move up the date and go all out with a new Pent 3, Voodoo 3 and Quake 3 system eh?!! Thats what credit cards are for!!! Impulsive stupid people like me, hehe.

Killjoy.HOPw 40 frags (144 ping), Wormburner.HOPw 37 frags (249 ping), Knowfear.HOPw 30 frags (105 ping) and Bear.HOPw 16 frags (250 ping).  RA.QC 15 frags (190 ping), S.O.B.QC 8 frags (193 ping), Minos.QC 6 frags (301 ping), and Hawk.QC -3 frags (305 ping).  It looks like we had the ping advantage here. 

The second level was played at 206.191.137.26:26000.  Clan QC won 89 - 18 on DM3.  GroundZero.QC 26 frags (175 ping), Pikachu.QC 24 frags (93 ping), S.O.B.QC 21 frags (256 ping), and Minos.QC 18 frags (259 ping).  Killjoy.HOPw 9 frags (175 ping), Wormburner.HOPw 5 frags (228 ping), Knowfear.HOPw 3 frags (93 ping) and AK-47.HOPw -1 frag (296 ping). Pings here were as close as you can get em!

Bummer! Jim.HOPw, Proteus.HOPw and I didn't get our monitors from Buy.com. We all found out this morning in an email stating our orders were canceled and Qball.HOPw found out yesterday. Hatriq.HOPw and Topaz.HOPw are still in the running. Everyone should know by Friday if they will recieve the monitor or not.

We will probably play Clan QC in the Thursday February 11th. 

This Thursday February 4th Killjoy and I are going to team up with Tigerlilly and Radchick of Clan Qgirlz and play a scrimmage versus Clan BC.
