HOPw Quakeworld server now up! HOPw qw server 2.21 is at 146.6.118.28:27500. It will eventually have qwring clanring mod on it but tonight it doesn't. Old Quakeworld HOPw 2.01 server is still at 206.31.50.15:27500.

Welcome back Quicksilver.HOPw! Yes I have spotted him on ICQ and Capt. Quick is back in action for two weeks and then he moves on to New Mexico.

Well this is my last day on the net for a week. I leave for North Dakota tomorrow at 8am pst time. I will be back late the following Wednesday July 8th. But will have a tough 6 days of work after that. So see ya in July

Clan HOPw 136 to Clan PMS 85

I'd like to thank Clan PMS for playing. They are a classy clan, very patient and not one complaint from either sides members. We played both levels on less then ideal servers. The first level E4M3 our level was played at a server where we all had alot of packet loss. Ping's were pretty even with us having a slight advantage.

Clan HOPw won E4M3 111 to Clan PMS's 32. Wormburner.HOPw 38 frags (291 ping), Knowfear.HOPw 35 frags (120 ping), Dforce.HOPw 23 frags (286 ping), and Hatriq.HOPw 15 frags (269 ping). PMS.Quakechik 15 frags (507 ping), PMS.Qbitch 12 frags (348 ping), PMS.Gemstone 6 frags (130 ping) and PMS.Bobbi -1 frag (425 ping). I'd have to say most of us probably all had phone jacks alot in the game. We all checked packetlosses before the game and for most of us it was running around 10 to 25%. Ouch. Everyone was a sport and made the best of it. Wow and look at Knowfear go!!! What a game Fear good job!

Clan PMS won DM3 53 to 25. PMS.Qbitch 26 frags (188 ping), PMS.Quakechik 14 frags (570 ping), PMS.Gemstone 8 frags (214 ping), PMS.Bobbi 5 frags (473 ping). Dforce.HOPw 9 frags (347 ping), Madaxe 6 frags (395 ping), Hatriq.HOPw 6 frags (375 ping), and Knowfear.HOPw 4 frags (221 ping). With about 6 minutes left in the game PMS.Gemstone timed out so Clan PMS played with 3 players for the last 6 minutes. That helped a little since Hatriq and Madaxe did a good job of teaming and holding the rocket luancher area for most of the last few minutes. They held it for about 2 minutes then lost it, but regained it and Dforce joined in with them to hold it the last 3 minutes. HOPw's frags went up quite abit in the last 6 minutes. I'd hate to run across PMS.Quakechik when she wasn't playin at 500 ping. Wow good game girl on both levels!

Saturday, June 27th

Quakeworld 2.21 clan match tonight at 9pm Central time vs Clan PMS. Be on ICQ and/or irc.gamesnet.net #clan_pmsctf. I will be setting up the server with them. It's possible we may play at Clan anticlan's server which is here 209.49.51.98:27500 but they will give us a new port. Also I will provide the password in icq.

On Friday BadJim13 and Knowfear were the only two to show up for our weekly scrimmage vs Clan AntiClan. They played a 2 on 2. They won E4M3 and lost DM6 and overall lost but had a good time playing. I showed up a few hours later and we played a 3 on 3 on DM3 and won 36 to 22.

Woohoo It's been 14 months in the making and it is finally about here. Clan HOPw vs Clan PMS!

Upcoming match this Saturday June 27th at 9pm Central time. Quakeworld 2.21 I will meet them on IRC and we will find a server we can play at that night. Please be on ICQ or if you have IRC then come join the #PMS channel. I'm not sure what server yet. If you don't have IRC their is a link on my links page.

BadJim13.HOPw had taken over as Capt. of the QW HOPw's. He has already set up a scrimmage for Saturday June 20th at 9:00 pm Central time vs Clan MIB.

BadJim13.HOPw has also taken over the monthly pic's page. I have linked it to his site and he may make it a weekly pic page if people send him pictures to display.

I have updated my servers page. I have broken it into 4 pages. A Quake Clanring page, QW Clanring version 2.21 and 2.01 pages and a Misc Quake/QW page. I will put servers that I play on the most there and also favorites of other HOPw's so it is easier to find us.

There is also a bug in Gamespy 3d 2.01 I don't recommend upgrading until they fix it and 2.02 comes out.

ICQ has a very well written article on their web page. It is on their main page http://www.icq.com/ here. They have also released a press release about (yuck) AOL purchasing them. This may help calm the fears of ICQ user's, at least for the short time. They have indicated in their time limited beta software policy that any changes will have at least a 30 day notice. So the death of Free ICQ will at least have a 30 day notice. I would guess that ICQ probably won't cost for at least another year or so. If AOL won't start making payments until 2001 they are going to probably want to keep the user base intact. So read on with the next article if you want to re-install your fears of a non-free ICQ.

Icq to cost $$$$ ???? Read this article from Gamesmania. My alternative if the price is that much would be to stop using ICQ. I would probably pay $20 for a full year max. But we already pay for an isp and we pay for a phone line. It just would cost too much to pay for each program we like on the web. That is why I would't pay to join a gaming network or AOL or any program that offers services.

Here is a good freeware program, vmirc97 it is 1.08mb and here is their web page http://www.megalith.co.uk/virc/. It seems alot of quakers already use irc so this is my solution at the moment.

OOOppppssss...... Happy June 5th Birthday Madaxe.HOPw Cali's B-day present (broken link) too you.

Wow almost a week went by again! Well Muad'Dib.HOPw would like to thank all HOPw's who donated or are going to donate some money to him to buy a new motherboard for the server. I believe 5 HOPw's have indicated they will send some money.

Hmm what's new..... Well I finally got a response from Clan PMS and they have said that they will play us in a clan fight, woohoo!! I believe it will be quakeworld. It could be this Friday at late. But I'd like to play and work late then so would like it on a Wednesday or Thursday late or earlier any other night.

Also made the roster page real real slow loading, oops.. well I figure you all hardly use it anyway. So I put our icq online info there so I can see who is online in case we have a match. But it doesn't always load all the way for me.

An update.... As far as I can tell we are only in one league now. It is the Monday night quakeworld league. Next week looks like the last match. I can't find the Tool4 Tourney page so I'm guessing that fell through. I also went to the Bunk Clan War page and noticed their last update was May 20th. I can't tell what week each team was supposed to play. However the week we were to play BCC I icq'd Tool and asked to set up matches. I never heard a reply from him. Also the following week would have been WCG but Brodie is also on my icq so I think that tourney fell through. I won't be joining anymore tourneys that is for sure.

Well here's how everything went against zogar. Zogar had trouble gettin people all night but we finally were able to have at least a 3 on 3. We originally planned on a 2.10 because KnowFear and MadAxe can only play that but zogar members refused to play 2.10 so we had to do 2.21. We didn't want a forfeit or the struggle with them another night so we just agreed and went to the server they wanted and had a 3 on 3.

They dominated both matches, first match being 100 to -2, zgr! Bouncingsoul 41 (ping 198),zgr! Booger 38 (ping 282), zgr! Pimp 21 (ping 371), Bad13[Jim]HOPw 1 (ping 278), DForce.HOPw 0 (ping 338) and Hatriq.HOPw -3 (ping 266).

Second match being 98 to 2, zgr! Booger 36 (ping 292), zgr! Bouncingsoul 33 (ping 186), zgr! Pimp 28 (ping 218), Bad13[Jim]HOPw 2 (ping 240), Hatriq.HOPw 1 (ping 263) and DForce.HOPw -1 (ping 390). Good match Zogar.I'll give them this, they were completely respectfull and didn't brag or be obnoxious jerks like some clans we've played lately. I'd like to extend a thank you to the HOPw's that showed up on short notice.

Wow it's been along time since an update. I've been busy.

We did have a qw match over the last week and a half and got wasted again. I don't have time to accept Quakeworld challenges or set up new matches. I won't do it at least through the middle of July. So some Quakeworld HOPw will have to step up and organize any Quakeworld events. Remember we kinda are in two Quakeworld leagues. Every Monday is a match at 8pm Central time.

As for unreal... I took back the game and no longer play it. It has awesome graphics, much better then quake 2 but it plays like a quake 2 game and I just am stuck on the true game of Quake.

Dforce writes that Clan HOPw had it's first Quake 2 scrimmage. It didn't go well since a few HOPw's had poor connections and were getting dropped. But Crater, Flesh, Dforce and Hatriq were the first bunch to work on a Quake 2 team game. It was played on DM1 and Quake 2 now has a clanring type mod out. Glad you all had fun!
