Saturday, May 23rd

QW 2.21 is out!!!! You can download the client and servers off my files page for faster downloading. QW 2.21 allows the use of vis'd maps and it fixes some bugs and other things from the 2.2 version. QW HOPw will still be 2.1 so you will need to keep that file until we get another server up at the university of texas.

We have a Monday Night QW match at 8pm Central time. Bobo.HOPw is organizing it.

I bought UNREAL today!!!! It is 100 times better then quake2. Quake2 simply sucks! Although Quake still rules. I hope that Unreal will have clanring type mods out soon. I will let you know how it plays. Suntzu is already making rave reviews! Get UNREAL NOW!!!

Tuesday, May 19th

I don't have time for the next 6 weeks to schedule and organize matches. Killjoy.HOPw will handle Quake matches and keep up on the Bunk Wars league. He will send me email with any information to post. He also posts all upcoming matches on his page. Check the link on the Clan HOPw page. Bobo.HOPw will be handling any Quakeworld Division scheduling unless he declines. Bobo will send me any news to post as well as sending it to Killjoy to post on the upcoming matches page. Both Killjoy and Bobo will icq/email HOPw's of upcoming matches in their respective divisions.

QW HOPw server will stay version 2.1 However we hope to soon have a new 2.21 version set up at the University of Texas soon. BTW Quakeworld 2.21 should be released soon this week. It will allow the use of vis'd maps. For you players that have altered your eyes.mdl you can also play 2.2 and 2.21 versions but it tells all players on the server that you have altered the eyes. I also found out that we can still play the new versions of Quakeworld with our smoke trails removed. So we do not need to reinstall quake to play it. However if you go to 2.2 you will want to keep your 2.1 available if you wish to continue to play at QW HOPw. Once we get another server or two up, I may try to contact in-motion and see if they will upgrade. However by doing this we risk losing quakeworld at that server forever or at least admin to it. Here is the link to Zoid's plan where he gives all the information under May 17th.

Well QW HOPw's showed up at our server at 8pm central time last night. I don't know the status of the other Clan XP. I do know they have irc so maybe we missed each other. I forwarded an email to the person directing MNQWL and let him know Bobo's email/uin as being the contact person.

A new version of icq is out. Version 1.26. To install this full version. Shut down icq. Click on start, then control panel, select add/remove programs. Remove Mirabilis icq. Double click on your new version 1.26.exe file follow the installation steps. Make sure it goes in the same directory as your old version. All your setting will be saved and your contacts. So if it is in your program files then exe it into that file. Not program files/icq it has it's own folder.

Sunday, May 17th

Quakeworld - There is a new quakeworld version out it is listed on my files page. We have a problem though. The new version is only compatible with the new 2.2 servers. So since QW HOPw won't be able to upgrade if you still want to play there you will need to exe your old quakeworld 2.1 version to go to that server.

We play Clan XP for MNQW league at 8pm Central on Monday night. I haven't been contacted by them so be available if you can.

Tuesday, May 12th

We played Clan mPOK and it was a very good game. We started E4M3 at our server and won 57 to 42. Wormburner.HOPw 37 (292 ping), Hatriq.HOPw 9, Bad13[Jim].HOPw 6 (293 ping) and Madaxe.HOPw 5 (336 ping). Hatriq played about 15 minutes of the 20 minute match and got disconnected. Bobo jumped in with about a minute or two but didn't have a frag. Epok.Austin 14 (244 ping), Apok.Typski 12 (243 ping), General Pok 8 (248 ping) and Epok.Zeek 8 (406 ping). Hatriq was very happy to be involved in a win, we need more of them.

We went to their server and got creamed on DM3. I am waiting on the pic from General Pok. So Clan mPok ended up winning overall. I'm happy to come out with a win on our level.

We were supposed to play another clan which supposedly was a new clan. Well it wasn't it was clan crossbones, Clan :X. If they are new then it may be in name only. I saw Preacher.:X and that was all it took to tell me we were in trouble. I taught him all my tricks on e4m3. Well anyway Bobo only had a half an hour and their initial choice in levels was e3m2 which only I new, Bobo said he knew it a little. I told Clan :X they should choose another map and we would play just one level. They chose DM3 and we got creamed. Target got upset and I still don't know the story yet. But I believe he may have quit HOPw. He said he didn't want to be laughed at anymore. I'm sorry it has come to that. I will not enter anymore leagues. I thought HOPw was more about friends then winning or losing. We will continue to lose until we get people to show at practice and work as a team.

Monday, May 11th

Tonight we have two Quakeworld matches. The first is at 8pm central time. Show up at 206.31.50.25 and is our first match in the Monday Night Quakeworld League. We play Clan mPOK. This is the best of two levels with our level being e4m3 and their level being DM3.

We also were challenged by another clan and will be playing them immediately following the MNQL match.

Bobo.HOPw will take over scheduling of the Tool4 League and will organize and schedule the day and time to fight our weekly match in that league. I will try to make all fights to admin or fill in if there isn't enough QW HOPw's to play. However the Tool4 page has been down for over a week so I have no idea who we play or if the league is even going. It wouldn't matter to me since we are way outmatched in that league. And we have enough people challenging us each week I can't find time to commit a day to most of them.

Saturday, May 9th

Good Job Clan PI they beat us in the Bunk Wars 223 to 47. This was the best out of three levels and they won the first two to go to a 2-0 win. We played both levels at their server. Killjoy was getting some ping spikes and Bear was lagged. I was ok and so was lpb Knowfear. We had a problem with a spectator being disrespectful and talking during the match. We kindly asked them to please not do it the second match. But of course losers will continue to be losers and not respect a match in progress. I stopped serveral times on e4m3 to ask them to stop an eventually they did by being a jerk and changing thier name to "forget you". The person goes by Velvet so I'd recomend never letting this person view a match. It cost me about three deaths but who cares when your getting your butt kicked, hehe.

Clan PI dominated the first match DM3. Wow just respawn frag after respawn. They had all the points covered and racked up a embarrassing score. O well can't say that one was much fun. I had to fight my way out of a -2 respawn telefrag start and then went to -3 on a boredom kick, but finally got back to 0 at the end of the game. The other HOPw's all started with -1 scores too, had a major lag set in on the start of the match. We lost DM3 128 to 0. Hypherion.PI 46 (40 ping), Wyat-Erp.PI 40 (218 ping), Flatline.PI 24 (90 ping), and Cybersnake.PI 18 (175 ping). The second level was won by Clan PI 95 to 47. Hypherion.PI 46, Flatline.PI 22, Wyat-Erp.PI 20, and DocHoliday.PI 7. Knowfear.HOPw 24, Wormburner.HOPw 15, Bear.HOPw 9 and Killjoy.HOPw -1.

Friday, May 8th

Well we were outmatched again. Another huge loss this time we lost 194 to 0 on one level DM3. I asked Clan DY if they would accept our forfeit of the second match since it was also DM3 and that would just be a waste of time. They accepted and we took the loss. The match took some time to get started. We went looking for other servers since they only wanted to play one level at our server. Finally we ended up back at QW HOPw and were trying to organize. I asked Clan DY to have only one person talk as a spokesman. Well it didn't work. They all continued to talk and say ready up etc... which complicates communication and actually makes it take longer to get organized. Very frustrating. Everyone acted pretty good their wasn't any name calling or insults this week. It was also a frustrating game and most of the HOPw's starting joking around. Nothing else to do but find some humor somewhere. I finally dug myself out of a -2 whole and had 0 frags with 15 seconds left.. I got my first frag on the positive side at 5 seconds left, WOOHOO, but the elation was short lived cuz as I greedily eyed another frag in the rl room i went charging into the room and with 2 seconds left slipped on Bobo's pineapple and put him at -1 to end the game. Sorry Bobo. All the HOPw's fought hard to dig themselves out of their negative frags too.

Thursday, May 7th

Quake Divison match on Saturday May 10th at 8pm Central time vs Clan PI in the Bunk Wars tourney. First match is e4m3 at 146.6.118.28. Second match is their level DM3 at 140.160.188.169:26666 This is the best of three and the tiebreaker is DM3 and the server isn't determined for a tiebreaker yet.

Quakeworld Division Match Tonight at 8pm Central time. Be on ICQ or show up at 206.31.50.25 QW HOPw server. This is part of the Tool4 Tourney and will be best 2 out of 3 DM3 matches. We play Clan Dionysus.

Quakeworld matches every Monday at 8pm Central time for the next 5 or so weeks. This Monday May 12th we will probably have two matches.

The QW HOPw server was probably hacked into last night. I'm not positive but my guess is someone used the rcon backdoor to put a password on the server. This will shut it down for the night but it is up and normal again today. The server reboots at 4 a.m. I would hope that know one messes with it again since we have no way of updating the server.

Monday, May 4th

Tuesday May 5th CrazeNDhead and I play our second round of our 2 on 2 tourney at 9 pm PST.

We will most likely have one or two more quakeworld matches this Wednesday or Thursday and we will also be having a Quake match this week. No times are set yet.

I'd like to remind all HOPw's that when we play any matches that HOPw's do not whine. You do not make comments back to the other clan even if they are insulting or whining. Whoever is in charge of the match will only talk to the other clan. I will request opposing clan to keep their comments to themselves. I sometimes don't see all the comments or notice what is going on. Try and ignore any bad conduct. Also if we get whooped don't leave and if you do get d/c'd then come back as soon as possible even if it is to spectate. It looks bad when we don't field a team of four players.

Clan Fundy 257 vs Clan QW HOPw 47

Monday, May 4th

If you want to talk about a classy bunch of guys then talk to Clan Fundy. They are a perfect polite well organized clan. This match was set up earlier today and I agreed to play them after our match with Clan Zogar. Clan Fundy was very patient when Killjoy left to talk to the other HOPw's about there play in the Clan Zogar match. After our first level with Clan Fundy was complete we only had three HOPw's left except for our lpb Target. I suggested we find another server so he wouldn't be so low. Clan Fundy didn't have a complaint and said just let him play here. Thanks Clan Fundy for being the type of Clan we wished we played every match.

The first level was our level e4m3 and we lost 126 to 24. CF.Nirvana 39 (249 ping), CF.Busdrivah 37 (245 ping), CF.Lanhdan4n 35 (238 ping) and CF.Slaurel 30 (313 ping). Wormburner.HOPw 20 (313 ping), Bear.HOPw 7 (328 ping), Killjoy.HOPw 0 (352 ping) and Hatriq.HOPw -3 (335 ping).

The second level was their choice dm3 and we lost 131 to 23. Hatriq left or got d/c'd prior to the start of the second match. He was having troubles and locking up and getting the phone jack in e4m3. All we had was Target.HOPw as a spectator and Clan Fundy let him play as a lpb. CF.Busdrivah 41 (274 ping), CF.Candyman 38 (250 ping), CF.Nirvana 31 (251 ping), and CF.Slaurel 21 (251 ping). Target.HOPw 9 (61 ping), Wormburner.HOPw 6 (339 ping), Bear.HOPw 5 (365 ping) and Killjoy.HOPw 3 (360 ping). Clan Fundy started off with the control and ended up keeping it I think half the game they were able to rack up alot of respawn kills. Both Target and I seemed to die at several respawn points quite often. Like Target said they have that down to a science. Good job Clan Fundy!

Clan Zogar 258 vs Clan QW HOPw 49

Monday, May 4th

This match was a the most frags for two levels and not part of the Tool4 league. We played this for fun. It started with Clan Zogar complaining about the pings and requesting a new server. The pings were in the 300's for all HOPws and Clan Zogars very evenly matched. I didn't understand what the whining was all about when it was so evenly matched. We did stay at the server and played. Clan Zogar is a talented Clan but has some players in it that like to whine. They had quite a few spectators and at least a few spectators didn't have the respect to use messgemode two. I finally asked Zgr.Stelth to leave or be quiet. He wanted to insult us while we were playing. or attempting to play hehe. His comments were basically that we sucked and were losers since we were losing by over 100. Yup that was true we were losing. But he needs to learn respect of others and keep his mouth shut. ZGR.Oj said he would have a talk with him. I have not had a problem with OJ and he seems like a good leader. We play Clan Zogar again in a Monday night league and in the Tool4 league. All I can say is I hope there is no complaining, whining or any insults the next time we meet. Clan Zogar has nothing to complain about when facing us they clearly have qw down alot better then we do. Good Game Clan Zogar.

Bobo got disconnected and with a few minutes left Hatriq joined in on this level.
