In the weeee hours of the morning.. well actually at midnight.. Alex took me on to become a HOPw.. It didn't look good for him starting out with a -3 to my 3 lead...But with his 180 ping vs. my 374 ping he worked his way back to 0.. Then shot up to a 5 to 8 score.. He had me worried.. Killjoy was thinking the same.. cuz he put in his two cents.. But that did it... I took off again and ended up winning 15 to 6. Well I can't say only one HOPw has beating me... (That was CrazeNDhead) but last Tuesday night DanQ finally got me 8 to 3.. So now officially, well alcohol influenced for one.., two HOPw's have beaten me on E4M3.. Ooops got off track.. Welcome Alex.HOPw to Clan HOPw.

O and keep an eye on the page.. Zork is setting up a clan fight with Clan God on CJ Server and it looks like it might be on for this Saturday. Possibly at midnight central time.. Unless Zork changes the level our level is E4M3... Clan God has not yet announced there level but they are supposed to today..

Woohoo!!! I finally made Blue's News! Thanks Blue for posting my information. I wrote letters yesterday to Blue, Redwood and Scary informing them that Qfront297 was out at http://www.frag.com Well only Blue said Thanks Wormburner. The other two posted the information. Redwood also has the the Qfront minimum install in his file section so if you can't get to frag.com try Redwoods.

It's out!!! QFront 297. You can download from my files page or go directly to the Qfront page. I have had trouble this afternoon trying to connect to www.frag.com so I'm not sure if you will be able to download it. I downloaded the minimum install this morning. It was 1.48mb. I haven't been able to get the full install which probably includes some optional files, like the tutorial and possibly some sound files? Well now I have the full install and it is 4.46mb and it has Clan HOPw as the default sounds, woohoo, heehe. It also includes the tutorial, lpb sounds and rd sounds. Definitely get this one!!

You need to go check the HOPcon Page again. I have added three links to coverage of Quakecon 97. Any other links I find will also be posted there. I have also added a link to CrazeNDhead's performance on the first match in Round 15 that he played.. Way to go Craz!

Zork.HOPw is working hard already. Get with him if you want to be in the next Clan fight. He has a Clan that wants to fight us. He may try to set it up for Tuesday or Wednesday this week. If not check with him on the new date.

Welcome Zork.HOPw, He is our newest member of Clan HOPw. He had me worried for a bit.. Thought he wasn't going to get a frag on me but he ended up with 2 to my 25. Zork had a bad day. But then most people do when they play me on e4m3. Congrats Zork your a HOPw!

Wow, two new HOPw's in one day!! Welcome and Congrats Suntzu.HOPw. He played a smart conservative game against me losing 3 to 13. It was quite a job to find him in that big level on E4M3.

Well I'm back in OZ. It was a fun and interesting trip to QuakeCon 97 and visiting an old buddy. Later tonight some pictures of HOPwCon 97 will be posted. This is how some of the days were spent.

Saturday Mrs. Wormburner and I headed back to Kansas. We debated about staying another night and going to Quakecon for the drawing. They were giving away a Micron 233mhz computer. I wouldn't have minded checking out the GlQuake workshop tonight. But in the end we decided to come home early. I had to drag her kicking and screaming, hehe, seriously though, she was the one who wanted to stay for the drawing...

Friday, I was supposed to go out and eat with Ledfoot and Fluf Bunnie, but they both canceled on me. So Mrs. Wormburner and I went to the Quakecon Party at the Harvey Inn ballroom. Mrs. Wormburner was picked to go get a prize and she got an ION storm T-shirt and decal. I'm kicking myself cuz I was going to grab CrazeNDhead's tickets for the drawing, but for some stupid reason I left them with him and we would have won an Intense 3d video card in the drawing with ticket number 800. Each night Wednesday thru Saturday they drew tickets and gave away prizes from t-shirts, headphones, spaceorbs, 3d video cards and finally a computer. They showed the release of Ranger Gone Bad on a Big Screen TV and some other demo's. All very cool. Then a band played for a bit, but we left along with 80% of the crowd. I checked back at Quakecon one last time and picked up my t-shirt and hat and headed out.

Thursday the one on one tourney was supposed to start at 11:00 a.m. but as usual things were quite slow. I showed up about 8:00 p.m. and found out I missed signing up for the tourney as a substitute by about 10 minutes. Ledfoot had come by to visit CrazeNDhead.HOPw in the afternoon. CrazeNDhead said that Boogyman.HOPw left to go back to Lawton, OK about noon and Fluf Bunnie stopped by to pick up his t-shirt. CrazeNDhead made the cut in the first elimination round. He told me he hadn't been to sleep since I left him at 2:00 a.m. the night before. He looked pretty beat. Mrs. Wormburner and I stayed around for the drawing and to watch CrazeNDhead's one on one match that was supposed to start at 11:00 p.m. Well like most of the tourney Craz's match started about 1:00 a.m. He was playing TEnima. Minutes before the match Craz's was catching some ZZZZ's until I woke him up.. Quake Refs had made the last call for the sleeping Craz... Well Craz went on to a -1 to 8 start.. it was the first to 15 and you have to win by two. It was actually pretty close.. the Ref had to tell the two players that the match was going on and it was for real about 3 minutes into the match. Seems both players were playing cautious.. neither had a kill both were playing hit and run for the health... but Craz fought his way back to a 14 to 9 standing but finally lost 15 to 9.... He did his best. Craze was close in the drawing though.. he missed winning by one ticket twice and another time missed by two tickets.. hmmm bummer.

Wednesday- Well Mrs. Wormburner and I arrived at about 1:00 p.m. and registered for the QuakeCon and paid my $25. We bummed around a bit and met a Japanese writer that was here from L.A. to cover the tourney for Japan. He needed to go to Best Buy to get High Roller some headphones. High Roller is one of the better Japanese Quake Players. He is also one of Japans best writers. But the on-line gaming company he works for sent him here to play. So he got a free expense paid trip to QuakeCon. Well Mrs. Worm and I took the writer to Best Buy and he ended up getting $108 headphones for $49 since the display was marked wrong. When we got back to Holiday Inn I told my wife that could be Ledfoot because he said he would be wearing a black quake t-shirt with a big rip in the back, but this guy didn't have a rip in it. The guy was pretty tan and I figured that was a good bet for a roofer. A few minutes later we met and it turns out Fluf Bunnie.HOPw was with him. We all went to HOOTERS for some beers. Then we drove my wife to my cousin's work so she could go home. Ledfoot, FlufBunnie and I headed back to QuakeCon and we ran into Boogyman.HOPw who had come down from Lawton, OK to see me for the day. We all headed to the bar to play pool. Then we got paged by CrazeNDhead who came up from Austin, TX. Craz was staying until Friday. Craz brought his computer and we set it up with the rest of the hundreds of computers. The tourney was running waaaayyy behind schedule. It was supposed to start at 5:00 p.m. Ledfoot, CrazeNDhead, FlufBunnie and I were all going to play today. We all took turns on Craz's computer for 10 or so minutes Hoppin from game to game practing. I was in a level with Killcreek a female player that beat John Romero. Well a guy named Legion TUS was kickin our butt he had 55 and I 28 and Killcreek 27 on e4m3 without quads.. It was 10 minutes of fun....A bit before midnight the tourney was set to take off, Ledfoot and CrazeNDhead were in the first two groups to fight 12 players on e4m3. Well after a half hour they called a halt to the tourney and said it would begin at 11:00 am. Thursday due to network difficulties. That eliminated all the HOPw's except for Craz who was stayin tell Friday afternoon. Ledfoot and FlufBunnie then went home. I visited with Boogyman and Craz until 2:00 a.m. but then had an hour drive back to where I was staying.. Had to get up at 8:00 a.m. to go to 6 Flags..

That is the trip.. of course I did quite a bit in Dallas, 6 Flags, went to a golf driving range, went to the zoo, planet Hollywood, an Irish pub where I stuck a dart in my leg, and visited with friends. It was cool meeting the HOPw's, all are cool people and I wish them well. Follow my link to our pictures and you can check out the HOPw's at QuakeCon97.

It's off to Dallas now. I left at 2:00 pm Central time. I will meet Ledfoot.HOPw and we will go to QuakeCon on July 16th Wednesday. Supposedly we will also be meeting CrazNDhead.HOPw and his bud Alex. Possibly Col may be going with them too, or he might try and make it up over the weekend. Hope that is so. Sometime during the week Ledfoot and I will go out to eat or to a bar with Shadowspawn of Clan Fotr. He is too busy working to make Quakecon but was nice enough to set aside some time for him to get a bite to eat with us.

Well I'll take some pics and have a write up posted here next Sunday or Monday. I'll be back for 2 or 3 days then it's off to Colorado for a family reunion and river rafting.

Well an interesting day yesterday. First I finally got back to playing Gl Quake from my 4 month break and used the vis'd maps. It looked really cool and DanQ and I will try and get the updated pics posted before tomorrow.

We threw togeather a quick match yesterday with Clan BR. Talk about gettin whooped.... HOPw's make good target practice. Go to the Clan HOPw page if you want to catch a quick glimpse of the results. If they aren't there then follow the link to the results page at Killjoy's page.

But it does say if you are bringing your own computer you can start setting it up in the morning. Once your done registering check out who is attending!

CrazNDhead.HOPw maybe carpooling with Col on Tuesday night. Alex Craz's bud will also be going. Hope you all can stay longer. Zork from Galveston is thinking of going. Ledfoot and I will be there when the doors open on Wednesday. And sometime that week Shadowspawn will be meeting us for dinner.

Hello, it seems we have been challenged by several clans. SoDa of Clan NO'MaaM issued us a challenge and I responded. However I sent a reply to author at Ppsfry@cyberus.ca and my mail was returned. I could not locate a clan page. So if SoDa see's this then you need to give me several email address or a clan page I can get to.

We were also challenged by [X] AOD but I'm not sure if it is with Clan [X] which I doubt but probably with AOD's new clan ToD.

We haven't heard from Nico of Clan HK for quit some time. He was supposed to be setting up a clan fight with Ledfoot. No news there.

Also Clan DFA couldn't get enough of beating us and wanted a rematch but I or Ledfoot haven't heard anything from them again.

Well Killjoy pointed out that I needed to have a link to Keyboarder's Anonymous so I have added that to my links page. I also have added quite a few new links to the GlQuake page. There is a lot going on with some transparent match utilities. It seems that even non 3dfx cards can have transparent water too. Check out the page.

Wow what a fireworks show Worlds of Fun in Kansas City put on!!! My neck hurts from looking up so long.. looked like the sparks would land on us. It was the best longest fireworks display I have ever seen. We had a pretty good time on the roller coasters too!

Bummer Hornet couldn't get off work, so Target and he won't make it to Dallas for Quakecon. But CrazeNDhead.HOPw will go to Dallas the night of July 15th and show up at QuakeCon97 for the first day on July 16th, woohoo, so it might be a HOPwCon after all, hehe.

For all you HOPw's and HOPw Friends that can't make it to QuakeCon why don't you enter a one on one tournament that is going from July 18th to July 21st. Only the first 100 Quakers will be entered and you must register by July 7th! So go to this page NOW! Tourney! (dead link)
