The Beautiful Babies: Schuyler, Kate and Lindsey
The Story

The place: Banks, Oregon. The time: 1980. Kate grew up with a love for music, singing in choirs throughout her academic career. Her talents for creating harmonies were honed to an impeccable skill, as she sung everything from Alto I to Tenor. She is a Taurus, into veggie cooking and holds a deep-seated passion for office supplies.

Meanwhile, only 12 miles away, in the town of Cornelius, the very same year, Lindsey was growing up on a farm. She first learned how to perform when accompanied by her aunt in a duet song and dance routine of "Yes Sir, That's My Baby." Yet, she always looked up to side-show freaks and to this day still aspires to make her carny dreams come true.

Growing up separately their entire lives, Kate and Linds finally meet on August 28, 1998 at Gonzaga University, and history was made. But it was not until December 28, 1999 that the potential for The Beautiful Babies was discovered. They were in a recording studio in Hillsboro, Oregon, mastering the final tapes for Lindsey's LuKas single and laying down a scratch track of a new song called, "Bunth." Kate began howling into the microphone, creating a hauntingly perfect harmony with Lindsey's voice. They said to each other, "DUDE! We rock, let's start a band!" The Beautiful Babies were finally born one evening during the movie, Swingers. The name came directly from the famous line "Baby, there's going to be beautiful babies there."

Schuyler Tsuda, guitarist extraordinaire

Lindsey had met Schuyler Tsuda, guitarist extraordinaire, during her freshman year at Gonzaga as well. A musical genius, Schuyler also plays with the GU classical guitar ensemble as well as in his own band, "Cockwork Orange." But his talents do not end there; he is also a cello-player and has a remarkable ear for working out riffs. When he agreed to take on the role of lead guitarist for The Beautiful Babies, the band was complete, and the music-making could finally begin!

Despite the fact that they are relatively new, the Gonzaga campus is already gripped in a Beautiful Baby Fever. One crazy fan said, "OHMYGOD!OHMYGOD!IT'STHEBEAUTIFULBABIES!!!!!" Need we say more? Of course. For example, one nutty fan in particular rushed the stage following their first public performance and demanded all three members sign his chest. Needless to say, they complied! Now everyone wants a "Tiger Beat pinup of that."
