Dear Mr. Porchard:

I was asked to write this recommendation on behalf of Jason Bay. Upon receiving his recommendation request, I have kept this letter highly confidential. I am the head baseball coach here at Gonzaga University and have been so for the past thirty years. From the years of 1994 through 1998, Jason attended Gonzaga and also played baseball here.

As a baseball coach, I have the opportunity to watch many people come and go from school and baseball. One thing that I really enjoy is watching my players grow up right in front of me for four years. Jason was no exception to this. Of all the years I’ve coached baseball, I’d have to say that Jason was one of the best leaders on and off the baseball field that I’ve ever had. Others would look up to him and ask for advice and he’d never turn away. He always reacted well around people he knew, but it was his effort to meet and include new teammates that really set him a part from an average person.

I also know he was an excellent student, balancing academics and baseball is never easy. After numerous talks over the years with Jason, it became abundantly clear that he was interested in computers. Once he had narrowed down his career path, he diligently worked to get his degree. Just like on the field, what sets him a part from the others in this field is his ability and desire to succeed on a team level rather than a personal one.

It is my opinion that Jason would be a perfect fit for your company’s success. His team skills and "get after it" leadership would make him a great employee. I thank you for your time and if you have any questions or concerns please call me at (509) 324-5745.

Sincerely,

John Doe
