Mr. Kurtela hails from the only legitimate part
of California, known to most as the bay area. He has been playing
hockey since he was seven years old. He started as a Mite and
played through Midget A. Despite what the guys may think, he won
an MVP award in a Midget A tournament with his amazing hands and
overall greatness in the sport. Sean is pretty much a savage when
it comes to sports. He is a decent skimboarder and his wakeboarding
skills rival those of teammate Brian Side, although Sean has never
tore all the ligaments in his leg doing so. He is Gonzaga hockey?s
own sophmore human wrecking ball, so opponents beware. This season
he plans to throw the body and maybe score a few goals if he has
time. Sean is a business major but wants to pursue a career in
movie production. When he's not in Spokane he can be spotted at
the beach or in the crowd at San Jose Sharks games. I must also
mention that he turned down full-ride hockey scholarships from
both Boston College and Wisconsin to play for Gonzaga, now that?s
dedication. He enjoys long walks on the beach, candle-lit dinners,
and cross-checking for Christ. And yes ladies, he is single.
