Playing youth hockey since he was 5, Kyle has always dreamed of playing hockey for University of Minnesota but found himself at Gonzaga after Jimmy "the raincoat" Gabriel recruited him. In high school, he played varsity all four years, making runs at the State Championship his junior and senior years only to take 2nd and 3rd places respectively.
