Crocheted Diamond Scarf

Instructions:

Scarf is worked in rows. Final dimensions approximately 6" x 60".
To "skip" a stitch, chain 1 and skip the stitch you would normally insert the hook into. This applies to skipping multiple stitches in a row. For example, to skip 4 stitches, chain 4 and then do a double crochet in the 5th stitch from your last double crochet.


To start: Chain 22. Double crochet in 2nd chain from hook and in each stitch all the way across (20 stitches). Chain 2, turn.

Row 1: Double crochet in every stitch across, except skip stitches number 2, 3, 18, 19. Chain 2, turn.
Row 2: Double crochet in every stitch across, except skip stitches number 3, 4, 17, 18. Chain 2, turn.
Row 3: Double crochet in every stitch across, except skip stitches number 4, 5, 16, 17. Chain 2, turn.
Row 4: Double crochet in every stitch across, except skip stitches number 5, 6, 15, 16. Chain 2, turn.
Row 5: Double crochet in every stitch across, except skip stitches number 6, 7, 14, 15. Chain 2, turn.
Row 6: Double crochet in every stitch across, except skip stitches number 7, 8, 13, 14. Chain 2, turn.
Row 7: Double crochet in every stitch across, except skip stitches number 8, 9, 12, 13. Chain 2, turn.
Row 8: Double crochet in every stitch across, except skip stitches number 9, 10, 11, 12. Chain 2, turn.
Row 9: Double crochet in every stitch across, except skip stitches number 10, 11. Chain 2, turn.
Row 10: Same as row 8
Row 11: Same as row 7
Row 12: Same as row 6
Row 13: Same as row 5
Row 14: Same as row 4
Row 15: Same as row 3
Row 16: Same as row 2


Repeat rows 1-16 until you run out of yarn or scarf reaches desired length.
