Yeah, so the last update wasn't ever actually published until now, but at least you'll know I had good intentions. Things in Milwaukee were pretty busy, and I managed to get in a sweet mountain bike at Camrock County Park. I also got in a decent run. Rewind to last weekend. The Chain Drive was tough, real tough and hot. It was also a great course and a really good time. We like the pain. I felt good for the first 2/3 of the race, but kind of fell off the pace in the last bit. I think I got behind on hydration and was overheating a fair bit. Overall I felt pretty strong and ended up 18th overall, so not a bad day all in all. Results here. We stayed at Brian Hammond's house, which was great. Muchas gracias. We hit up the KBC and caught the end of the US-Italia World Cup game on Saturday afternoon while ducking in during the torrential downpour. Sunday, I hung out with Brian's friend Rachel and had a nice time talking skiing and taking in the gravity events. I took 260 photos, which are up here. If'n you're interested in a full size copy of any of the pictures, just shoot me an email, and I'll hook you up. After the week down in Milwaukee, I did the 68 mile Superior Vista Tour on Saturday, followed by the coffee ride this morning, which was mighty for the most part. We'd been kind of hammering a bit too much for my taste lately. This afternoon I headed over to a technique clinic with Andre Watt of the CXC Team hosted by Borg. Good times. Out.

I had an awesome weekend up at the Keeweenaw Chain Drive. The cross country on Saturday was a monster. Sunday there was a downhill and dual slalom. I didn't race Sunday, but I took something like 300 pictures of which at least a few should be worth putting up here, but I have to get up for work tomorrow morning and drive to Milwaukee in the afternoon, so that ain't happening tonight. Check back sometime this week. I'm bringing down the super cool laptop, so I'll try to throw down an update from there. Ciao.

Time flies when you're having fun. It doesn't seem like its been a week. This week has been pretty low key. After putting in a bunch of good volume weeks, I took a pretty easy week including two rest days. Friday wasn't really planned as a rest day, but I was feeling tired, and figured since it was supposed to be an easy week, another day off wouldn't kill me. I got out for my first real roller ski of the year today. It felt pretty good and I felt surprisingly strong. I definitely wasn't 100% comfortable on the rollerskis, even by my low standards. But it was a nice day. I also got a ton of work done on the bikes this week in attempts to keep them from blowing up at an inopportune time. Like the Keeweenaw Chain Drive next weekend. I'm racing the cross country on Saturday, and plan on taking a bunch of pictures for the gravity events on Sunday. Should be a good time. Ciao for now.

Another weekend, another bunch of riding. On Saturday, I went down and joined the home dogs for Not a Gathering in Namekagon. We rode pretty much the same loop as last weekend. There are pictures posted, mostly from places we didn't stop last week. We saw a momma bear and two cubs, probably the same ones as last week. We also saw a porcupine literally flying up a tree. It was pretty awesome, and definitely nicer weather than last week. Today, we did the coffee ride, which had been moved to Sunday. I got in a nice long week of training this week, which was rad. I'm trying to fit in a bit more running next week, but other than that, I've been pretty happy with how things have been going and how I've been feeling. Ithink all of the mountain biking is really going to help for mountain bike racing in general and especially 24 Hours of 9 Mile. Last year I was riding a ton, but not really mountain biking all that much, and my upper body was not ready to bring the A game for some races. That's all for this week. Ciao.
