12/23/06-Happy Holidays!
Sorry for the lack of updates, I've been spending too much time skiing. Wait, I'm not sorry. Skiing has been rolling along. We don't have much snow around Ashland (none) and almost nothing up at Valhalla. I've been driving over to Wolverine once or twice during the week after work and then getting in some good volume over the weekends. THE Adam Airoldi joined me for my ski this Thursday and we had a nice ski. Tuesday I got in a nice classic ski. Klister covered has been the name of the game as of late. That is until today. The fresh snow in Ironwood was perfect classic skiing today. I ran into Chapin and Terry Tansey in the parking lot at ABR and they were both gushing about the conditions and they were spot on, if a bit warm with the kick wax reccomendation. I classic skied for a couple hours before joining Brian Hammond and my 24T teammate Dennis Liphart for a couple hours of skating. Classic was so nice they pretty much had to drag me off the classic skis. I guess I'm getting up "early" tomorrow to get on the snow while its still cold. I took a few pictures today during my ski. My 24T team has filled, but Brian is looking for people. There is also a team of pretty fast (and fun) chicas looking to add one more lady and storm the women's division. Email me if you want in. Oh, and send me cookies which I'll be sure to pass along to the appropriate people... More great skiing over the next couple days. Out.

12/12/06- 'Bout time
I figured since it had been almost a month since I updated, I could get off my lazy bum and do so. A busy month it has been. I moved to a sweet new location down by the lake. I got a mean cold. I went to Italy for Thanksgiving. Pictures here. When I got back, I did a bit of training then we got snow. glorious snow! I skied tons last week and loved the nice cool temperatures. Last week was one of the nicest stretches of classic skiing I can remember. It must have done some good because despite skiing four hours on Saturday, I had a pretty decent race on Sunday at the Grand View XC Ski Challenge. Results here. Scott Nesvold has a nice photoset on skinnyski.com Borg just got me, and I was up amongst some skiers that I would consider decent. Good to know things are relatively on track. The meltdown has not been kind. I skied yesterday up at Valhalla and it was doable. Tonight I ran. I was kind of hoping that sort of nonsense would be over for the year, but if conditions don't improve, there is a good chance I'll be on the cross bike on Thursday. Not that I don't love my cross bike, but this ain't good prep for 24T. We're still considering people for our fourth. The rock solid TD Lulich is out this year, a victim of higher education. Email me with your racing resume, or just send me cookies if you are interested. I reserve the right to reject anyone if they seem to fast, too slow, or they send me crappy cookies. So pick your cookies wisely. All for now. I'm out.
