CROSSING OVER Ministry's primary outreach is accomplished through speaking engagements. Miss Norma travels close to five times a month speaking to groups of all kinds: college campuses, church youth groups, benefit events, and rallies, to name a few. Her message focuses primarily on the love and forgiveness she has found in her life. McCorvey has reaffirmed this idea when she has commented that "the most important message I wanted to convey was one of forgiveness."

Since the ministry's inception in 1997, Norma has visited over 40 states and three countries, bringing her message to pro-life and pro-abortion listeners alike.

Director of Crossing Over, Norma McCorvey, the former Jane Roe of Roe vs. Wade, has said that "I don't speak for the whole pro-life movement, I just speak strictly for my own heart."

Additionally, McCorvey has commented that "I didn't come here to change minds, I came to share with them the forgiveness that I've found."

While we invite you to contact the director's scheduler, we cannot guarantee Ms. McCorvey's availability. Norma maintains a rigorous schedule and because of time constraints must be very selective with where she spends her time. If you are interested in what Norma has been involved in, please see our recent events listing.

Following a presentation at Gonzaga University, this appeared in a local secular newspaper: "Norma McCorvey got hold of herself through her faith," Fr. Spitzer (President of GU) said in an impassioned tone, "...through a liberation of the soul, and openness to God, to love and the irresistible belief in the intrinsic dignity of the human person."

Before a recent appearance at the University of California - Santa Barbara, Junior political science major and College Republican John Kalinksi said students should take advantage of the opportunity to listen to McCorvey, regardless of their political beliefs.

"Her views have changed as she has become educated about the issue. It's very interesting to see how her life can turn around because of her faith," he said. "Whether or not you agree or disagree with her abortion beliefs, it is important to hear the story from someone that was the face of the movement."
(The Daily Nexus Newspaper) At the same event at the University of California - Santa Barbara, Miss Norma spoke in front of a capacity crowd of 525 people at the Isla Vista Theatre. Even more people who were turned away waited outside the theatre in hopes of entering the building if anyone inside left early.

More recently, in late 2003, Norma spoke to various groups in Uruguay
about abortion in their country. [See pictures from Norma's trip to South America]

Speaking to students has become one of McCorvey's passions. After speaking recently to a group of pre-law students at a New York area university, one professor commented to her students saying, "As a woman, a feminist and a young lawyer at the time of Roe v. Wade, I felt painfully tortured, but nothing, I see, as compared to the experience of the litigant. It is all about them. This morning effected beautiful closure for me. And I am especially glad that I got to share it with all of you. When I looked around at your faces as you listened to women's ancient history, I felt so thankful that our future is in your thoughtful and compassionate hands."
