Searches for tessellated pavement images revealed mostly travel and tourist pictures of tessellated pavement as a natural phenomena, such as these rock formations in Tasmania, made by a combination of water, wind, and salt.

While there are several references to old European churches and
landmarks having "a tessellated pavement" what exactly
that entails is uncertain, especially in reference to inland locations.
Tesselated pavement in the Corey home would most likely be in
a subtle, not entirely planned pattern like this coastal picture;
it might possibly look like this patterned brickwork from Beacon
Street:
